The Accidental Renovation pt 2
October 21, 2019Once Daniel and I got the top few layers of the floor up, we realized we were in for a much bigger job than we originally thought.
Here is our lovely pile of laminate floors. They were not terrible, just not staying together and had several gaps that we were tired of tripping over.
This was actually the third layer down- so cute.
The white underlayment runs under all of our cabinets and we initially began to cut around the island, we still were unaware how involved this project was going to become.
This lovely was in the threshold to the den.
At this point we had to move the fridge out and decided to pull the carpet from an area in the den while we were at it. I did not want the refrigerator sitting on carpet and we wanted to get rid of the carpet anyway... that is becoming the theme of this little adventure...
Turns out the fridge wont fit through the doorway to the den and ended up in the dining/living room. Yes, we pulled up the carpet for no reason and scratched our newly refinished wood floors in the living room in the process. At this point we just have to throw our hands up and laugh.
